Introduction and creation of European Branch

The European branch of the CSSS was created in 2020. Philippe Blommé, who lives in Belgium, and Linda Gilmore Sutherland were appointed Co-Convenors of the new branch, and were joined by other members from Belgium, Finland, Sweden, Scotland, Germany and Switzerland.
The branch meets every 3 months via ZOOM and also takes part in various events celebrating Scottish culture throughout the year.

Aims of EB

The aims of the branch are :

• Encourage a sense of community and thereby to encourage more active participation in the Clan Sutherland Society in Scotland by European members.

• Promote common interests of European members.

• promote the conservation and the preservation of places and objects connected with Clan Sutherland.

• Help members to exchange advice and information.

• Encourage research into the history of the Clan.
